1. Objective
The National Scientific Poster Competition on Cannabis (hereafter, “the Competition”), organized by Expo Cannabis Argentina, aims to highlight, promote, and recognize relevant scientific research on cannabis and industrial hemp. The competition encourages interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and seeks to showcase both consolidated studies and innovative projects that contribute to the scientific, technical, social, or legal understanding of cannabis.
2. Participation
Eligible participants include individuals working in academic, scientific, technological, or professional fields, either individually or as a group. Each poster may have one or more authors, but one person must be designated as responsible for registration, communication with the organizers, and public defense if selected as a finalist.
Participation is free of charge. Submissions previously presented at other conferences, workshops, or scientific events are also eligible.
3. Competition Categories
When registering, participants must select one (1) category that best fits the theme of their work:
- Basic research on cannabis
- Clinical experience with cannabis
- Botanical research on cannabis
- Preparation and/or quality control of cannabis derivatives
- Social and legal developments related to cannabis
- Research on industrial hemp
4. Registration and Poster Submission
To participate, you must:
- Complete the registration form available on this webpage.
- Upload your poster in the format described in the Technical Guidelines, available at the following link:
IMPORTANT: Compliance with the Technical Guidelines is mandatory. Failure to meet the specified requirements will result in disqualification without the possibility of resubmission or correction.
Submission deadline: September 19, 2025 (inclusive).
5. Evaluation and Selection
Once the submission period ends, the President of the Scientific Jury of Expo Cannabis Argentina will review all entries and shortlist those that meet the formal and technical requirements.
The Scientific Jury, composed of experts in each of the six categories, will then evaluate the posters based on the following criteria:
- Originality and innovation
- Scientific, technical, or social contribution
- Relevance of the topic
- Clarity of presentation
The jury will select 20 finalist posters, which will be printed by the organizers and exhibited during the three days of Expo Cannabis Argentina 2025.
6. Oral Defense and Additional Presentation
The person responsible for each finalist poster must deliver a public oral presentation of their work before the jury and general audience on the “Health & Science” stage at Expo Cannabis.
The date and time will be communicated by the Scientific Jury after the finalists are confirmed.
Finalists must also prepare a PowerPoint presentation in the format specified by the Jury and submit it via email within 14 calendar days of receiving notification.
Failure to submit this file on time or absence from the oral defense will result in disqualification.
7. Awards Ceremony
On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the Awards Ceremony will be held on the main stage of Expo Cannabis Argentina. One winning diploma will be awarded per category (6 total).
In addition, all finalist posters will be published in a special edition of Revista THC, with an assigned ISBN.
Within four weeks after the event, authors of the 20 finalist posters will receive a Certificate of Participation.
8. Dissemination and Copyright
Authors will retain the rights to their work. However, by participating in the competition, they authorize Expo Cannabis Argentina to disseminate the posters and their contents for scientific and educational purposes, in print and/or digital formats, always crediting the original authorship.
9. Final Provisions
Submitting a poster implies full acceptance of these guidelines. Any situation not covered in this document will be resolved by the Scientific Jury of Expo Cannabis Argentina.
